Digital assets such as cryptocurrencies are most likely to experience a "significant correction" next year, according to a survey by U.S. money management firm Natixis Investment Managers, with nearly three-quarters of institutions surveyed saying the investment is not suitable for retail investors.
The data also shows that 28% of all institutions surveyed are invested in cryptocurrencies (with nearly a third saying they plan to increase their allocation to cryptocurrencies in the next year). Overall, 8% of all institutions surveyed (including both invested and uninvested investors in digital assets) plan to increase their allocation to cryptocurrencies next year.
Many believe that digital assets like Bitcoin can be a good hedge against inflation in an economic environment where inflation is high.
